Derby is where Sadlergates started
We began in Derby city centre in 2012, catering for offices and events across DE1 while the whole operation still fitted in one kitchen. Fourteen years later Derby is still our busiest patch by some distance: more orders leave our kitchen for Derby postcodes than for anywhere else we serve, and DE24 alone takes more deliveries than any other district on our list.
That matters for a practical reason. We are not learning Derby from a map. We know which industrial estates have a barrier you need a code for, which receptions want the platters left at the desk and which want them carried up, and which roads not to be on at half past eleven on a weekday.
Catering for Derby’s business parks
Most of what we deliver in Derby goes to the business parks on the eastern side of the city. RTC Business Park on London Road is our single busiest destination anywhere. Aspen, Riverlands, Riverside and Wyvern in DE21 between them take hundreds of deliveries a year, and we run out to Heanor Gate, Willow Farm at Castle Donington, Ascot Drive, Osmaston and Cotes Park at Alfreton on a steady weekly rhythm.
Those orders are mostly working lunches and meetings, sandwich buffets from £5.50 a head, breakfast from £3.35, a hot buffet where a client visit needs something warmer. Firms that order regularly tend to open a credit account and take one invoice a month.
We cater the other side of Derby business life too: retirements and long-service presentations, barbecues on the car park in July, and the Christmas buffet that gets booked in October for a date in December.
Ordering and delivery in Derby
Delivery is free to every postcode listed above, and buffet orders carry a £20 minimum. Order a buffet by 4pm and it arrives the next working day: a Monday delivery closes at 4pm on the Friday, because the kitchen buys its bread and meat the day before it cooks. Hog roasts, barbecues, weddings, funerals and parties are booked as events: there is no set minimum and the notice needed depends on the job, so ring the office and we will quote it.
Our Derby coverage runs well past the city itself: Belper and Duffield in DE56, Ashbourne in DE6, Ilkeston in DE7, Castle Donington in DE74, Heanor in DE75 and Alfreton in DE55. If your postcode is not on the list it is still worth asking, particularly for a larger order.

Do you deliver to Derby?
Yes, and more of our orders go to Derby than anywhere else we serve. The whole city and well out into the county: Spondon, Alvaston, Mickleover, Littleover, Chaddesden, Allestree and Sinfin, and on towards Ilkeston, Belper, Ashbourne and Burton. Delivery is free.

What does it cost per head?
Sandwich buffets start at £5.50 a head and breakfast at £3.35, with a £20 minimum on buffet orders. Hog roast from £795 for up to fifty guests and hot buffets from £23.50 are event catering and priced on the booking. All prices are per person and exclude VAT.
Can we open an account and be invoiced monthly?
Yes. Several of the Derby business parks we serve order weekly on a credit account and settle one invoice a month instead of paying per delivery. You can apply through the credit account page.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and halal. Tell us how many guests need each when you order. Those portions are prepared separately and labelled, so nobody has to guess at the buffet table.
Do you set the buffet out, or is it drop-off?
Standard delivery is drop-off: platters arrive covered, labelled and ready to go straight onto a table. If you need staff to set out and clear away, say so when you book and we will quote for it.
When should we book Christmas catering?
Derby offices tend to book December buffets during October, and the last two weeks of December fill first. Book the date when you know it: final numbers can be confirmed much closer to the day.
