There is working catering too, mostly around the Watnall Road corridor and out towards Sherwood Business Park at junction 27, along with the Wigwam Lane and Common Lane estates. Those are ordinary buffet orders — Buffet 1 at £5.50 a head through to Buffet 9 at £11.00 — and they go out first on the round because they are nearest.
For anything bigger, hog roasts and barbecues travel well from here: Newstead Abbey, Papplewick Pumping Station and Bestwood Lodge are all inside fifteen minutes, and a hog roast that does not have to be trailered halfway across a county is a hog roast that gets set up unhurried.
