ABOUT EVENING BUFFETS
The meal everybody forgets to plan
The wedding breakfast gets months of thought. The evening buffet gets remembered somewhere around the final invoice, usually when the venue quotes a figure that makes somebody sit up.
It matters more than that. By nine o'clock your daytime guests ate five hours ago and have been drinking since, and your evening guests have come straight from work. It is the last food anybody has and it is the food people are most obviously hungry for.

Why the evening buffet is worth quoting separately
Venues often price the evening food as part of a per-head package covering the whole day, which makes it very hard to see what you are paying for it. Ours is quoted on its own, on the evening headcount, so you can compare like for like — and if your venue permits outside catering for the evening only, which many do even where they will not for the wedding breakfast, that is usually where the saving is.

BEFORE YOU BOOK
Wedding Evening Buffet — your questions answered
How many people should we order an evening buffet for?
Your evening headcount plus a good share of the daytime guests, who by then have not eaten since the wedding breakfast. Most couples order for around 70 to 80% of the total number in the room, and it is better to be slightly over than to run out at nine o'clock.
What time should the evening buffet be served?
Usually between eight and half past nine, and later than most people first think — food put out at seven has gone by half past and leaves a long stretch with nothing. Tell us the time and it is laid out and covered about half an hour before.
How much is a wedding evening buffet?
From £5.50 a head for sandwiches, £7.70 with savouries and £11.00 for the full spread with crisps, fruit, cake and juice. All prices exclude VAT and delivery is free.
Can we use you if the venue is doing the wedding breakfast?
Often, yes. A good number of venues that insist on doing the daytime meal will allow outside catering for the evening. Ask them — it is one phone call and it is usually where the saving on a wedding day actually is.
Is a hog roast an option for the evening?
Yes, and it works well where there is somewhere outdoors to set up. From £795 for up to fifty guests, carved as people come. It needs more notice than a buffet and a flat area of about three metres by five.
What about guests with dietary requirements?
Every buffet is 30% vegetarian as standard, and vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and halal portions are prepared separately and labelled at no extra charge. Give us the numbers with your final count.
When do we have to confirm numbers?
Seven days before, and you can move them freely until then. Evening guests are the hardest list at any wedding because so many are maybes until the last week, which is exactly what that window is for.
Do you set it up and clear away?
We set up — laid out where you want it and covered until you are ready. For a delivered buffet we do not stay, and our driver collects the platters and cool boxes the next working day, so there is nothing for anybody to deal with the morning after.

Sorting the evening food?
Tell us the date, the venue and roughly how many for the evening and we will price it on its own.
