Most of what we do is somebody's ordinary Wednesday
Catering companies tend to advertise weddings. The overwhelming majority of what actually leaves our kitchen is the office lunch, the training day, the christening at the church hall, the wake arranged at two days' notice.
That shapes how we work. Prices are published rather than quoted, because somebody organising a Tuesday meeting should not have to ring for a number. Delivery is free and the order goes in by 4pm the day before, because most of this is arranged in the same week it happens.
It also shapes what we say no to. If you want a plated three-course wedding breakfast with silver service, we are not the right caterer and we will say so on the phone rather than after you have booked.

What catering costs
Breakfast from £3.35 a head, buffets from £5.50, kids lunches from £5.25, barbecue at £13.00 and hog roast from £795 for up to fifty guests. Delivered catering has a £20 minimum on the order value, free delivery and no service charge, and needs ordering by 4pm the day before. Anything cooked on site has a fifty-guest minimum, wants about 3m by 5m of flat ground, and takes a 25% deposit with the balance due thirty days before.

What catering services do you offer?
Delivered buffets from £5.50 a head, breakfast from £3.35, working lunches, kids club lunches from £5.25, and cooked-on-site catering — hog roast from £795, barbecue at £13.00 a head, pizza at £14.50 and hot buffets from £23.50. By occasion we cater weddings, funerals, corporate events, parties, christenings and Christmas.
How much does catering cost per person?
It depends on the service rather than the occasion. Breakfast starts at £3.35 a head, a sandwich buffet at £5.50, the full cold spread at £11.00, barbecue at £13.00 and pizza at £14.50. A hog roast is priced per event rather than per head, from £795 for up to fifty guests.
Do you charge more for weddings?
No. The price is the price, and it is published. A buffet for fifty at a wedding costs what a buffet for fifty at a works do costs, which is not true everywhere and is worth asking any caterer directly.
What areas do you cover?
Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and Leicestershire, from a kitchen in Hucknall, with offices in Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield and Leicester. Delivery is free across the area.
How much notice do you need?
For anything delivered, 4pm the day before — the kitchen prepares on the morning it goes out. For anything cooked on site, think in weeks rather than days, and in months for a summer Saturday.
Can you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
Yes, as standard rather than on request. Every buffet is 30% vegetarian before anybody asks, and vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and halal portions are prepared separately and labelled at no extra charge. Tell us the numbers for each when you order.
