Buffet 1 to Buffet 9, rising in price from £5.50 to£11.00 a head. Freshly prepared sandwiches are in all nine. What changes is what comes with them — and it is not a single ladder, which is the thing worth knowing before you pick a number.

Buffets 1 to 4 build sides around the sandwiches: crisps at 2, homemade cakes at 3, cakes and a fresh fruit platter at 4. Buffet 5 (£7.70) is where savouries arrive — sausage rolls, pork pies, quiche, samosas — and it is sandwiches and savouries only, so it deliberately trades away the cakes that Buffet 4 had.Buffets 6 to 9 then build back up from there, adding cakes, crisps, fruit and finally juice at Buffet 9.

What a per-head price includes

The food, disposable plates and napkins, delivery, and our driver coming back for the platters and cool boxes the next working day. There is no service charge and no delivery charge. Prices exclude VAT. A delivered buffet has a£20 minimum on the order value, which is four people on Buffet 1, and we need the order by 4pm the day before — the kitchen prepares on the morning it goes out, so a Monday delivery closes on the Friday.

Anything cooked on site — hog roast orbarbecue — is quoted as an event instead, and has its own minimum numbers and notice.

Dietary requirements are not an add-on

Every buffet on every menu is 30% vegetarian as standard — not on request, not at extra cost. Vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and halal portions are prepared separately and labelled, also at no extra charge. Tell us how many of each when you order rather than the names, and it is built into the count instead of being added on the side.
