BEFORE YOU BOOK
BBQ — your questions answered
What time do you arrive for a barbecue?
An hour and a half before service — half an hour longer than a hog roast, because the grills need to come up to temperature before the first thing goes on.
How much space do you need?
About 3 metres by 5 metres, flat and without steps between us and where guests will eat. We bring a gazebo, so the cooking is under cover.
What happens if it rains?
We cook under a gazebo and a British summer is priced in. The question worth answering before the day is where your guests will stand — a marquee, a barn or an indoor space makes the difference between a good evening and a damp one.
How many guests do you need?
A minimum of 50, or the equivalent booking value for a smaller group. There is no upper limit that has troubled us yet.
Can you cater for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes, and they get cooked separately rather than alongside the meat. Tell us the numbers when you book. Gluten-free, dairy-free and halal are all fine too.
What deposit do you take?
25% on booking to hold the date, and the balance 30 days before. Bank transfer or card over the phone.
Do you stay and serve, or drop it off?
A barbecue is cooked and served on site by our team — that is the difference between this and a buffet. We are there for setup, an hour of service, and the clear-up afterwards.
Can we keep the leftovers?
Yes, they are yours. Bring containers along and we will leave everything with you.
