How a Nottingham barbecue works
We arrive an hour and a half before your service time and set up in about three metres by five of flat ground with no steps to the serving area. Service runs an hour and we say when it is coming to an end so people can go back.
Disposable plates and napkins are included. Fifty guests is the minimum, or the equivalent booking value — under that a delivered buffet from £5.50 a head is better value and we will say so.
Where we barbecue around Nottingham
Business parks at Sherwood, NG2 and Ruddington Fields for staff summer parties, cricket and football clubs across the county, and private gardens through West Bridgford, Wollaton and Mapperley.
For a workplace barbecue the deciding question is usually where the smoke goes rather than where the tables go — a car park corner away from air intakes is the usual answer, and the building manager will have a view worth hearing before you book.

Can you do a barbecue at short notice?
Sometimes, and Nottingham is the place to ask. The kitchen is ten minutes away, so if the date is free the answer is more often yes here than in Sheffield or Leicester. It still needs the deposit to hold it.
What if it rains?
We cook under cover, so the food is fine. The problem is your guests — you need somewhere for fifty people to stand and eat that is not the lawn. A marquee, a barn or a big garage all work.
Is there a minimum number?
Fifty guests, or the equivalent booking value. Under that, a delivered cold buffet from £5.50 a head is the better answer and costs a fraction of it.
Can you barbecue at a business park?
Frequently, and it is a good share of our Nottingham summer work. Check with the site manager about open flames and where the smoke will carry — that conversation is the one that decides it, not the catering.
How much space do you need?
About three metres by five, flat, with no steps between the grill and where people are served. Outdoors as standard — tell us in advance if it needs to be under cover.
