How a Nottingham hog roast works
We arrive an hour before your service time, the hog itself has been going a great deal longer than that, and set up where you tell us. The machine wants a flat area of roughly three metres by five, ideally with no steps between it and where people will eat.
Service runs for an hour. We say when it is coming to an end so nobody misses seconds, and the leftovers are yours if you have containers to hand.
Where we set up in Nottingham
Gardens, cricket and football clubs, business parks, farm venues out towards Southwell and Newark, and marquees at the country houses around the city. The recurring practical question is not the postcode, it is whether the van can get within carrying distance of where the gazebo goes. A long carry across a lawn adds half an hour.
City-centre venues are the ones to check earliest. A hog roast is an open flame and a gas bottle, and some managed sites simply will not permit it, which is a conversation worth having before you book anything else.
WHERE WE DELIVER
Nottingham and around it
We deliver across Nottingham City Centre, West Bridgford, Beeston, Arnold, Carlton, Hucknall, Bulwell, Wollaton, Mapperley and Sherwood, everywhere between them, and a good way beyond. If you are not sure whether we reach you, ring the office and ask. The answer is usually yes.

Why Nottingham chooses us
The kitchen is ten minutes away
Hucknall to most of Nottingham is a short run, so a late question about a Nottingham hog roast usually has an easy answer.
Priced per event, not per head
£795 covers up to fifty guests; at 151 to 200 it is £1,450, about £7.25 a head. Every band is published on the menu.
Crackling that comes off in sheets
Slow-roasted for hours and carved to order, with apple sauce, sage and onion stuffing and fresh bread rolls.
Vegan and halal prepared separately
Pulled BBQ jackfruit cobs are the standard vegan option alongside the hog. Gluten-free, dairy-free and halal are made apart and labelled.
What Nottingham customers say
4.9 out of 5 from 210+ Google reviews
Sadlergates did the catering for our wedding in Nottingham and we couldn’t have been happier… There was plenty of food and they were really good at dealing with our complex dietary requirements. On the day of the wedding they turned up exactly on time, prepped the food and brought it all out with excellent communication so we knew when to get everyone seated.
Beth · Wedding
Fantastic food and service from Sadlergates Catering Nottingham for a Celebration of Life event. They were so lovely to deal with and there were many compliments about the sandwich buffet on the day. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for catering an event.
Hester · Celebration of life
Sadlergate were outstanding from start to finish when catering our Christmas event. The festive buffet was of a very high standard providing three different meats and also veggie options. Shaun and Vicky were incredible throughout the evening, ensuring everything ran seamlessly and taking care of every detail.

We have catered Nottingham since 2012. If you have a date in mind, the earlier we know it the more likely it is still free.
Hog roast catering in Nottingham, your questions answered
How much is a hog roast in Nottingham?
From £795 for up to fifty guests on the Bronze package: the hog, crackling, stuffing, rolls and sauces. Silver is £940 and Gold £1,050 for the same numbers. The price covers the whole event, so 150 to 200 people on Bronze is £1,450, roughly £7.25 a head. There is no travel charge within Nottingham.
How much notice do you need?
Allow weeks, and months for a summer Saturday. Midweek dates are far easier and cost exactly the same, which is worth knowing if your date can move.
Is there a minimum number?
Fifty guests, or the equivalent booking value. Nottingham is the one place where going under it is worth a conversation. The kitchen is in Hucknall, so a smaller job here costs us less to reach than it would in Sheffield. Ring and ask.
What space do you need?
Three metres by five, flat, with no steps to the serving area. In the city and the inner suburbs the usual obstacle is not the garden, it is getting the machine from the van to it: a terrace with a narrow side entry or a first-floor function room both add time, and both are workable if we know first.
What deposit do you take?
25% to secure the date, balance thirty days before, by transfer or card. Nottingham Saturdays in June and July go first, so the deposit is what actually holds the date.
What happens if it rains?
The roast is under a gazebo and carries on. The question is your guests: most Nottingham bookings we do have a marquee, a clubhouse or a garage to fall back on, and it is worth knowing which of those is yours before the week of the event.
