Catering a wake in Hucknall
Hucknall funerals mostly gather at the town’s halls and clubs, at the church rooms, or at the family’s own house. The service may be at Hucknall Cemetery or at one of the crematoria a short drive away, and the gathering afterwards is nearly always back in the town.
Being a mile from most of those addresses changes what we can promise. Everywhere else we quote forty-eight hours for a delivered buffet and mean it. Here we will at least look at a same-day request, because the only thing standing between the kitchen and the venue is a ten-minute drive. We will not promise it, the kitchen has a day’s orders to get out first, but it is worth the phone call, and it is not worth the phone call anywhere else.
The food is the usual funeral tea. Sandwiches cut small, sausage rolls, pork pies, quiche, and cake with the tea. Nothing about a wake calls for invention.

Every buffet this company delivers (Derby, Sheffield, Leicester, all of it) is made on Watnall Road and leaves from here. For a Hucknall family that means the food on the table has travelled further from the fridge to the van than it has from the van to the hall.
It also means the hygiene rating on the footer of this site is the rating for the kitchen making your order, inspected by Ashfield District Council. That is a smaller claim than it sounds and a rarer one than it should be.
