HOG ROAST
Hog roast catering in Leicester
Hog roasts across Leicester and Leicestershire, cooked on site and carved in front of your guests. From £795 for up to fifty, priced by guest numbers rather than per head.
Leicester is the furthest of our four cities from the kitchen, which for a hog roast means one thing above all: book earlier than you would elsewhere. The chef, the machine and the gazebo all travel, and the day is planned around the journey.

How a Leicester hog roast works
We arrive an hour before your service time and set up where you tell us; the hog has been going a great deal longer than that. The machine wants roughly three metres by five of flat ground, with no steps between it and where people will eat.
Service runs an hour. We say when it is coming to an end so nobody misses seconds, and the leftovers are yours if you have containers ready.
Where we set up around Leicestershire
Business parks around Meridian and Genesis for staff events, cricket and rugby clubs across the county, farm and barn venues out towards Market Harborough, and private gardens in Oadby, Knighton and Birstall.
For anything at the universities or a managed city site, the fire and gas question is worth raising with the facilities team early. We can work indoors where a venue permits it, but that needs arranging well in advance rather than mentioning on the day.
WHERE WE DELIVER
Leicester and around it
We deliver across Leicester City Centre, Oadby, Wigston, Birstall, Glenfield, Syston, Braunstone, Evington, Aylestone and Knighton, everywhere between them, and a good way beyond. If you are not sure whether we reach you, ring the office and ask — the answer is usually yes.
Venues we cater at in Leicester
- King Power Stadium — Leicester City FC — conference and banqueting suites
- Welford Road Stadium — Leicester Tigers — one of the largest conference venues in the East Midlands
- Leicester Racecourse — Oadby — function rooms and marquee space
Not an exhaustive list — if the venue you have in mind is not named here, it is almost certainly still one we cover.
Why Leicester chooses us
One price for the event
£795 covers up to fifty guests and £1,450 covers 150 to 200 — about £7.25 a head. The bigger the party, the better it compares with a per-head buffet.
A vegan option that is not an apology
Pulled BBQ jackfruit cobs as standard alongside the hog, with halal, gluten-free and dairy-free prepared separately and labelled.
Check the venue permits an open flame
Several Leicester city venues do not. It is the question that most often stops a booking and it is much better asked before anything else is arranged.
Carved across an hour
Not served all at once. People come over, take a plate and come back, which is what keeps a hundred and fifty guests from forming one queue.

We have catered Leicester since 2012. If you have a date in mind, the earlier we know it the more likely it is still free.
Hog roast catering in Leicester — your questions answered
How much is a hog roast in Leicester?
From £795 for up to fifty guests on Bronze — the hog, crackling, stuffing, rolls and sauces. Silver is £940 and Gold £1,050 at those numbers. It is priced for the event, so 150 to 200 guests on Bronze is £1,450, roughly £7.25 a head. No travel charge to Leicester.
How far ahead should we book?
Earlier than for a delivered buffet, and earlier in Leicester than in Nottingham because of the distance. Weeks rather than days, and months for a summer Saturday. Midweek dates are far easier and cost exactly the same.
Can you cater halal alongside a hog roast?
Halal-sourced portions are prepared separately and labelled at no extra charge, which comes up more often in Leicester than anywhere else we cover. We are not a certified halal kitchen and the centrepiece is a pig, so we will be plain about that rather than let anyone assume otherwise.
What is the minimum?
Fifty guests, or the equivalent booking value if your numbers are smaller. Below that a delivered buffet from £5.50 a head is usually better value and we will tell you so rather than sell you the bigger thing.
What space do you need?
About three metres by five, flat, with no steps to the serving area, and outdoors as standard. Tell us in advance if it needs to be inside — that is a different set of arrangements and not every venue permits it.
What happens if the weather turns?
The roast is under a gazebo and carries on regardless. What matters is where your guests eat. A marquee, a clubhouse or a big barn all work; an open lawn in October does not.
