Christmas parties in Leicester
December in Leicester asks a question the other cities mostly do not: what does everybody in this room actually eat? It is entirely normal for one office party here to need halal, vegetarian and vegan portions alongside the turkey, and just as normal for nobody to raise it until asked.
So we ask, and we ask for numbers rather than a note. Those portions are prepared separately and labelled, and if the whole room needs one thing we build the whole order that way rather than adding options at the edges of a standard festive buffet.
The rest is familiar: Meridian Business Park and the city-centre offices want a buffet delivered; the venues and the universities want a sit-down with our team on site.
The December nobody plans for
Leicester has two December peaks rather than one. The office parties run through the first three weeks like everywhere else, but the city also has a run of winter graduations, and the family gatherings around them fall in exactly the same fortnight as the works dos. Both universities graduate in the winter and the receptions afterwards are catered somewhere.
That matters if you are planning either, because it means Leicester's December is busier than its size suggests and the good dates go earlier than people expect. A graduation lunch and an office party are competing for the same Saturday.
It also means a lot of December bookings here are family rather than corporate, and family bookings are where the dietary question is most likely to be complicated and least likely to be raised unprompted. We would rather ask twice than assume once.

Yes, and Leicester's winter graduations fall in the same weeks as the office parties, so ask early. A festive buffet at £8.75 a head suits a room of forty; over that, the hot buffet or a hog roast usually works out better.

What dates can you cater?
Everything on the Christmas menu runs from the 1st to the 23rd of December.
When should we book?
As early as you can. December fills from October and the last two weeks go first, Thursdays and Fridays especially.
How much does it cost to hold a date?
A 25% deposit secures it, with the balance due 30 days before. Final numbers are confirmed seven days out and you can move them freely until then.
What are the vegetarian and vegan options?
Vegan turkey, cranberry and stuffing sandwiches, festive vegan sausage rolls and mixed falafel bites are on the buffet as standard, and the hot buffet has a vegan meatloaf on request. Everything is prepared separately and labelled.
Do you cater works parties and family ones?
Both, at the same price. Office parties tend to want the delivered festive buffet; family gatherings more often want the hog roast.
