Getting married in Chesterfield
Chesterfield weddings are mostly hotel weddings, and that makes the planning different from anywhere else we cater. Ringwood Hall in its twenty-nine acres, Casa in the town, the Peak-edge venues out towards Baslow — all of them have a kitchen, a function suite and a view about how the day runs.
The first question is therefore not what you want to eat, it is what the venue permits. Some take outside caterers freely, some for the evening only, some not at all. Find that out before anything else and you will save yourself two weeks. If they do allow it, we work round their kitchen and their timings rather than the other way round.
Where an outside caterer is not allowed for the wedding breakfast, the evening buffet often still is, and that is a real saving on a day where the venue's evening pricing is usually its least competitive.
The Peak edge, and getting there
West of the town the venues get further apart and further from a main road, and in winter that matters. We have delivered up there for years and it is not a problem, but the timings are longer and worth building in rather than discovering.
For anything genuinely remote — a barn on the edge of the Peak, a marquee on a hillside — a hog roast from £795 is the safer answer than a hot buffet, because it does not depend on anything at the far end except flat ground.

Will our hotel let you cater?
Ask them before you ask us — it is the first thing to settle and it is entirely their call. Some Chesterfield venues take outside caterers freely, some for the evening only, some not at all. If they allow it we will work round their kitchen and their timings.
How far in advance should we book?
Summer Saturdays go a year ahead. Midweek and off-season are far easier. Ring with the date and we will tell you what is free rather than what we would like to be.
Can we taste the food first?
Yes, on request. A menu chosen from a written description is a menu chosen twice.
What about the evening guests?
An evening buffet from £5.50 a head, ordered on the evening headcount rather than the whole day's.
How do you handle dietary requirements?
Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and halal portions are prepared separately and labelled. Tell us how many of each when you book. Give us the numbers with your final count and those plates are made separately.
What deposit do you need?
25% holds the date, balance due 30 days before. Final numbers seven days out, and you can move them freely until then.
