International Men’s Health Week 2022

The 13th – 19th of June 2022 is Men’s Health Week. This is a vital week for raising awareness of the struggles men face both physically and mentally. Everyone struggles at times, medical conditions can be daunting, work and life can be overwhelming. Therefore it’s so important that men take the time to step back, check in with loved ones and actually look at how we’re doing.

I’m passionate about creating a work environment that prioritises people’s mental and physical wellbeing. Having struggled myself, I understand the importance of having support and encouragement when times get tough. Work shouldn’t just be a place of putting your head down and ploughing through the stress, it should be a place to share your worries and struggles to make sure you’re staying healthy, mind and body.

I want to expand this beyond my workplace, and strive to support the men within my community, as well as across the world. There are so many incredible charities with the goal of educating men on the importance of taking care of themselves, as well as helping them find the medical and mental health support they need. These last couple of years have been hard on everyone, corona virus has separated people and taken loved ones. Now more than ever is the best time to reach out and get the help you need. There’s no shame in seeking out support, whether medical or emotional, keeping yourself healthy is so important.
