Earth Day: Invest In Our Planet

Our planet has suffered a lot over the last few decades. Pollution and deforestation have left permanent scars, a reminder of how we are ruining our home. Earth day is all about raising awareness of the importance of protecting and conserving our planet. The theme for 2022 is #investinourplanet – everyone can do their part.

Even the smallest actions can make a huge difference over time, and everyone can contribute even as you go about your daily business. Some changes you could make are – shop sustainable fashion, use reusable water bottles, eat more plant based foods, switch to reusable bags and buy local produce.

The same applies to businesses. Small changes to how businesses run can make a big difference. Some changes could be – choosing local suppliers, using recyclable packaging and reducing energy usage where possible.

At Sadlergates, we are always striving to meet these same standards, to become a more sustainable business. Improvement is a journey and takes some time, however, these are some of the ways that we are starting to be more sustainable as a business. We recycle all compostable food waste and only order the necessary food required for the week. We use a route planner for all deliveries, lowering our carbon footprint by cutting out longer routes and diversions. And finally we have an energy efficient kitchen, lowering the amount of energy we use overall. We will continue to improve and become a more efficient business and do our part for the planet.
